2019 All-StarsJuly 18, 2018 -

The baseball stars came out last night for Major League Baseball’s All Star game at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
Next year’s All Star game will be held at Progressive Field in Cleveland for the first time since 1997. However, as of this writing MLB has not yet announced the players who will be participating or starting for next year’s All Star game.
Given the tremendous amount of time and energy that baseball clubs and fans dedicate to analyzing players’ statistical strengths and weaknesses, it is surprising that the 2019 All Star roster is not already set. I am fairly confident that collectively we already know everything that can be known about the players’ on-field performance.
I suspect that MLB may be concerned that past performance is not a guarantee of future results.
Let’s face it, a lot could happen over the next 12 months. Past stars may falter if they encounter physical ailments or bad luck. Players who have struggled recently may find their groove and have a great year next year. Some players may even be traded to another team over the next 12 months.
I guess there are some pretty logical reasons why the 2019 All Star roster has not been revealed yet. And they are the same reasons we cannot tell you which of your investments will be the absolute best over next 12 months. The future is simply unknown.
While it does not come naturally to most people, embracing a high level of uncertainty is necessary to be a successful investor. We are here to help you plan and adapt through life’s many uncertainties.
