All About FamilyJune 27, 2018 -

When I volunteered to write the blog a month or so ago, I knew that I wanted it to be family focused. Just this past weekend, my Facebook post stated that “family dinners are my favorite time of life.” The post was accompanied by a video of our family around the dinner table laughing loudly, watching my one year old granddaughter blissfully savor each bite of her vanilla cupcake, and just loving every minute of our time together.
When my son moved out on his own a few years ago, even though it was only three quick miles down the road, I knew that I needed to do something to maintain a consistent connection with him. He was moving to an apartment with his then girlfriend, now wife, and their infant son, Levi – my first grandchild. This began the tradition of hosting family dinner on Sunday afternoons.
Here’s a picture of my family at my son’s wedding this past May.
It’s hard to explain the feeling of knowing you are going to be a grandparent. Of course your first thoughts turn to those memories you have made with your own grandparents. In my case, those were all vivid and wonderful memories, and I of course hoped that I would, through the years, create those same memories for my own grandchildren.
Ironically, an email came through today from one of our partners, The Hartford that provides an article on the benefits of being a grandparent. Benefits of Being a Grandparent
Perhaps you’re reading this and you’re not a grandparent. That’s okay – feel free to share this with a grandparent you know, or keep it in your hat for the day you become one.
The bottom line for me is that there is no better gift than family. Certainly, we all have a different family dynamic, but whatever yours might be, I think in the end, we all want the same for those we really care about. We want them to be happy, to smile and enjoy life, and to dream big and achieve their goals. At IAG Wealth Partners, we are very family focused, and if you are one of our clients, you know we consider you part of our IAG family. We take great pride in the relationships we build with each of our clients and their families, and throughout that relationship, we are working behind the scenes every day to help your family pursue the dreams and goals that create lasting memories for you and your family.
